The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine of the Department of Medicine offers 12 three-year fellowship positions. The program involves experience and patient care on: the Cardiology Consultation Service, the Coronary Care Unit, the Invasive Cardiology Laboratory, the Non-invasive Cardiology Laboratory (which includes transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, exercise testing, and Holter monitoring), and the Electrophysiology Laboratory.
In addition to the clinical services, fellows spend six months on a dedicated research rotation.
The clinical experience is supplemented by a number of weekly conferences, including rounds with the Director of Service, cardiology grand rounds, echocardiography conference, hemodynamics conference, electrophysiology conference, journal club, and didactic seminars.
Specific duties of the cardiology fellows include:
