Lenox Hill Hospital-MEETI is an affiliate training site of the Otolaryngology residency program sponsored by the New York University Medical Center. Five residents at a time rotate at LHH-MEETI from the NYU program.

The Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery department offers comprehensive exposure to the ever-expanding scope of modern practice. The specialty areas in which residents participate in medical and surgical care include general otolaryngology, head and neck oncology, facial plastics and reconstruction, pediatric otolaryngology, rhinology, laryngology, otology and neuro-otology.

Residents are given increasing responsibilities commensurate with their abilities and level of training. Careful supervision and instruction by the enthusiastic attending staff gives residents the benefit of the experience, knowledge and technical expertise of our practicing staff of otolaryngologists-head and neck surgeons.

Educational opportunities at LHH-MEETI include didactic lectures, teaching sessions and patient rounds, grand round, journal club and mortality/morbidity reviews. Interdepartmental conferences and communications with other disciplines, such as neurosurgery, medicine, oncology, radiology and pathology, contribute to knowledge and enhance patient care. The residents also participate in conferences and meetings at NYU and in the metro area, as well as nationally. Research conducted at LHH-MEETI is often presented to local and national audiences and published in peer-reviewed journals.

The Otolaryngology attending physicians enjoy teaching and are committed to resident education. In addition, they strive for excellent patient care and quick response to changes within their own and associated fields of medicine. Surgical advances and technological innovations help make otolaryngology an exciting and complex surgical specialty in which residents enjoy training at LHH-MEETI.

Applications and inquiries regarding this training program should be directed to the Department of Otolaryngology at NYU Medical Center.
