Gady Har-El, MD, FACS, Chairman of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital received the prestigious American Academy of Otolaryngology -- Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) Distinguished Service Award at their annual meeting held in September, the world's largest gathering of otolaryngologists.
The Academy presents Distinguished Service Awards – the highest awards given for teaching and service by the academy – to medical professionals in recognition of extensive meritorious service through the presentation of instructional courses, scientific papers, participation on a continuing education committee, or Academy leadership position.
An accomplished physician, surgeon, researcher, and teacher, Dr. Har-El is widely recognized for clinical and academic achievements in head and neck surgery as well as skull base and sinus surgery. He is well known for developing and refining minimally invasive procedures for sinus and skull base tumor resection.
Dr. Har-El has authored more than 240 scientific papers and book chapters and edited
four books and monographs on otolaryngology, skull base and sinus surgery..
A frequently invited speaker in the United States and abroad, Dr. Har-El has also been listed in the Best Doctors of New York, America’s Top Doctors and America’s Top Doctors for Cancer since 1994.
