Samuel Selesnick, MD to Lead Prestigious ENT Society

Dr. SelesnickSamuel H. Selesnick, MD, FACS, an Attending Surgeon in the Department of Otolaryngology at Lenox Hill Hospital, has been elected as the President of the American Neurotology Society (ANS).  ANS is the largest organization of neurotologists, or skull base surgeons, in the United States and facilitates the advancement of scientific research related to otology and neurotology.

Neurotology, a subspecialty within otolaryngology, encompasses lateral skull-base surgery and surgical and medical treatment for patients suffering from complex ear-related problems such as hearing loss, tinnitus and vertigo.

As president, Dr. Selesnick will oversee both the fall meeting and the spring annual meeting. The meetings serve as a platform for investigators to submit their work for a blinded peer review selection process. Dr. Selesnick will also be in charge of selecting panel topics and choosing guest lecturers, and he will chair the executive council.  The annual ANS symposium is the largest gathering of neurotologists–skull base surgeons, in the country.

Dr. Selesnick has lectured on neurotologic and ear related topics internationally, and has been named one of the best doctors in his field by New York Magazine.  Dr. Selesnick sits on the editorial board of the journal Otology and Neurotology and has published extensively in peer reviewed journals.
