Lenox Hill Hospital and its subsidiary, Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Institute, were both ranked among the nation's top hospitals in Heart and Heart Surgery and in Ophthalmology, respectively, according to U.S. News and World Report's annual "America's Best Hospitals" survey.
Lenox Hill Hospital was one of only two Manhattan hospitals to be named best hospital for heart and heart surgery and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Institute was one of only three Manhattan hospitals to make the list of best hospitals for Ophthalmology.
The survey, conducted in conjunction with the National Opinion Research Center, a noted social science research group at the University of Chicago, assesses hospital care in 17 key medical specialties. The rankings included 205 medical centers out of more than 6,000 surveyed.
