Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Institute (MEETI), a subsidiary of Lenox Hill Hospital, was ranked among the nation's top hospitals in Ophthalmology according to U.S. News and World Report's annual 'America's Best Hospitals' survey.
Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Institute was one of only three Manhattan hospitals, and 18 nationwide, to make the list of best hospitals for Ophthalmology.
The survey was conducted in conjunction with the National Opinion Research Center, a noted social science research group at the University of Chicago. The rankings included 205 medical centers out of more than 6,000 surveyed.
"MEETI physicians and staff are honored to be recognized for our commitment to superior patient care," said Phillip P. Rosenthal, Executive Director of Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Institute. "Independent evaluations such as these rankings are of real value to our community and our patients and our staff who strive always to provide the highest quality care."
Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Institute, founded in 1869, is one of the oldest and most comprehensive eye care centers in this country. MEETI's ophthalmologists treat both children and adults for routine eye care and unusual eye disorders. MEETI was one of the pioneers in laser vision correction and also provides state-of-the-art laser treatment for cataracts.
