Lenox Hill Hospital Wins National Improvement Award

The Lenox Hill Hospital Emergency Department was named a 2010 Top Improver Award winner, one of only 29 health care facilities in the country to receive this honor from Press Ganey Associates, Inc.

Over the past two years, a patient-centered focus on internal operations at the hospital has resulted in arrival-to-bed time of six minutes or less, and patients are now seeing a physician in 15 minutes or less compared to a national benchmark of 30 minutes.

The award recognizes hospitals that have shown continuous improvement in patient, physician or employee satisfaction scores, comparing quarterly scores over two years  with improved scores in three of the four eligible periods.
 
"This outstanding accomplishment reflects a total Emergency Department Team effort in focusing on what patients want most: to be seen by an ED caregiver as soon as possible so that high quality, professional care can be initiated in a timely fashion with an optimum result," said Carl Ramsay, MD Acting Chairman of Emergency Medicine.
