Governor Eliot Spitzer proclaimed May 9, 2007 Health Care Auxilian Day in New York State to recognize the dedicated Auxilians who annually volunteer more than five million hours of service to their health care facilities and communities.
Since 1949, Lenox Hill Hospital's Auxilians have volunteered thousands of hours of service in virtually all areas of the Hospital.
During the past year, the Auxiliary of Lenox Hill Hospital has raised funds to buy clothing for indigent patients and purchase a much-needed bone densitometer for the hospital. They also decorate the Hospital's walls with colorful framed artwork, hold a successful Theater Benefit Evening and sponsor the hospital's Babies and Toddlers Club, an educational program offered free of charge to parents and caregivers of babies and toddlers.
This year, the Auxiliary will appropriate more than $125,000.00 to underwrite special projects to enhance the Lenox Hill Hospital experience for patients and employees alike.
Members of the press seeking information about Lenox Hill Hospital should call the Public Relations Department at (212) 434-2400.
