Lenox Hill Hospital recently opened Lenox Hill Medicine, a new Primary Care Center to provide high quality preventive care and to treat acute and chronic illnesses. The center specializes in caring for patients with a variety of health conditions, ranging from high blood pressure and diabetes to asthma, arthritis and heart disease.
Lenox Hill Medicine physicians are trained in primary care, women's health, preventive medicine, geriatrics, alternative and integrated medicine, preoperative medicine, endocrinology, metabolic bone disease, rheumatology, and hematology.
“We are very pleased to be able to help the members of our community establish a relationship with a primary care doctor through the opening of Lenox Hill Medicine,” says Carmela Rocchetti, MD, Medical Director. “That relationship is vital in maintaining health.”
The newly renovated space, located at 178 East 85th Street, features state-of-the-art equipment and offers on-the-spot testing and monitoring for diabetes.
The center also offers preventive tests such as pap smears and breast exams and cholesterol, blood pressure, prostate and skin cancer screenings.
“If a patient needs a specialist they will be referred to one of 1,400 physicians on staff at Lenox Hill Hospital,” said Jack Ansell, MD, Chairman, Department of Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital. “Our physicians have outstanding reputations in their fields and the Hospital offers a wide range of services in radiology and medical and surgical specialties.”
Lenox Hill Hospital Medicine is now accepting new patients including those who are covered by Medicare and most other insurance plans.
Patients can usually be seen in less than a week and urgent issues are offered a same day appointment.
