The United Hospital Fund (UHF) bestowed its Distinguished Trustee Award to Lenox Hill Hospital trustee Caroline Davis at a recent luncheon at the Waldorf-Astoria. Ms. Davis was one of 39 trustees from metropolitan area hospitals who were recognized for their leadership, generosity, and extraordinary service to not-for-profit and municipal hospitals in New York City and nearby communities.

The award recipients are prominent leaders in business, medicine, education, and law, as well as those involved in human services and volunteerism.

“Ms. Davis is a driving force for quality improvement and patient safety at Lenox Hill Hospital. With an astute and educated eye, she chairs the Hospital’s Quality & Patient Safety Committee, overseeing all aspects of clinical and operational performance,” said Dr. Marc Napp, Vice President for Medical Affairs at Lenox Hill Hospital. “In this evolving climate of public scrutiny of medical care, especially as pertains to quality, she champions the patient’s right to outstanding, compassionate care.”

“The leaders we honor are among the region’s best at guiding their institutions when help has been needed most. That’s why we at the United Hospital Fund feel privileged to have this opportunity to recognize the exemplary efforts of this remarkable group of voluntary leaders,” said United Hospital Fund President James R. Tallon, Jr.
