Lenox Hill Hospital offers a full range of healthcare services for adults and children. The Department of Medicine's large staff of primary care physicians and internists provides families with comprehensive medical care and oversees their total healthcare needs. They work closely with physicians in 17 department subspecialties, who provide expertise in the prevention and treatment of specific medical conditions.
Women and children also benefit from the Hospital's renowned maternal and child health services.
The Hospital established its maternity service in 1933. Since then, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has built a reputation for combining the latest technology for pregnancy and delivery with highly skilled and compassionate care. Lenox Hill Hospital physicians deliver more than 3,700 babies each year in newly renovated facilities.
Expectant mothers with high-risk pregnancies benefit from the expertise of a highly skilled team of specialists at the Hospital's Center for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Services include a full range of prenatal testing, as well as ongoing monitoring of both mother and fetus.
Premature infants and those born with special needs receive individualized attention in the Hospital's Neonatal Critical Care Unit, managed by the Department of Pediatrics and offering round-the-clock monitoring and care. The unit, staffed by specially trained physicians and nurses, is located adjacent to the maternity unit. In addition, the Hospital's inpatient pediatric services include a Pediatric Special Care Unit that provides critically ill children of all ages with intensive care and monitoring.
Lenox Hill Hospital also offers outstanding physicians and services for routine gynecologic and pediatric care.
